Post by: glortonxxx on October 11, 2013, 02:15:06 am
I had a foreign food class back in highschool and this was my favorite recipe.

kolaches is a Czech and Polish pastry with creamcheese and fruit on top. You can also make a chocolate or meat kolaches.

This here recipe will make 24

The ingredients you need is:

. 3 packages of active dry yeast (1/4 oz each)
. 1/2 cup sugar
. 1/2 cup warm water.
. 3 cups cream cheese
. 1 cup sour cream (8 oz)
. 1/2 cup vegitable oil.
. 1 teaspoon salt.
. 4 eggs
. 4 1/2 cups of all purpose flour.
. 2 cans (16 oz) of any fruit of your choosing.

Directions:

1. in a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water.  Add the sugar, pudding mix, sour cream, oil, salt, eggs and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough. Cover and refrigerate dough overnight

2. punch down dough on a lightly floured surface. divide the dough into 24 pieces then shape the pieces into balls. let them rise in a warm area until they doubled in size. it should take 20-30 mins.

3. using a spoon make a dent in the center of each ball. then place 2 table spoons of your fruit filling and then 1 table spoon of cream cheese. Bake at 350° for 14-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool. then enjoy
